WW2 Kiwi Legend

Pat Hickton is a Kiwi war hero living in Palmerston North. His amazing story of escape from the Germans after he was captured in France after his plane crashed during a bombing run, was recently featured on Channel 4 series ‘Freedom Trails’ in the UK. The series told the stories of living airmen who had elluded capture using the famous O’leary Line to escape through France and over the Pyrenees in WW2. Pat was 97 when interviewed and Spike was commissioned to research and paint his aircraft as a thank you gift.
